NDMS MONTHLY TRAINING DIVISON UPDATES

Every month the training section of NDMS has a nation-wide conference
call for all the teams. Here is our way of sharing the highlights
of this months call:
- The Transition form DHS to DHSS is still on-going, unfortunately
not as smoothly as planned. We are still working under a continuing
resolution which means there is no funding and all training costs
will not be approved.
- Core training materials are being re-developed by a cadre.
Currently held up by the same financial issues.
- Currently the PDB is working on developing “Standards” of
training based on the missions of HHS,ASPR,OPEO, and NDMS.
These will be based on Federal Law, Policy, and procedures
- The PDB has been tasked to develop new training venues based
on training, exercises, and previous lessons learned.
- The 2008 TRAINING SUMMIT will be held March 17-19 2008 (Pre-sessions
March 15 & 16) at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville,
Tenn.The focus is on ESF-8 Response. The inter-relationship of
DMORT/DMAT/ ImSURT/ VMAT /NMRT-E will also be emphasized.
Up to 4000 attendees are expected and civilians will be invited.TO’s
and AO’s will have specialized Tracts at the conference.
Deputy Team Leaders will be asked to attend the AO & TO training
this year.
