FL-3 DMAT, has developed the Personal Equipment List (P.E.L.) ¹ based on your practical needs, experience and input from other teams. Although this list is not all-inclusive, it does attempt to address the necessary items. The typical deployment ² time period is for two weeks and must be considered when packing your gear.

The Ready Bag and the Main Gear Bag are the two bags to be use for a deployment. The Ready Bag (ALICE pack, Day Backpack, etc.) must remain with you at all times and will contain the items necessary to support yourself for at least 48 hours.
The Main Gear Bag (Duffle bag or similar system) will contain your additional support items. This bag may not be readily available to you once it is stowed for air or ground transport.

For identification of uniforms and personal equipment, you may elect to use a waterproof indelible ink marker or have your nametags sewn into the inside of the uniform. Consider marking or engraving your own personal equipment.

Remember!
  • Be prepared and anticipate the worst.
  • If you cannot afford to lose it…. don’t bring it.
